    The James Beard Award should let you know what you are in for. This was the ultimate southern food. Everything was off the charts. This was my first but not my last trip. The fried chicken was fresh out of the fryer and was the best I’ve ever had. The okra soup was good on it’s on and the mac and cheese was just like my grandma used to make. The red rice was also fantastic.

    Great food. I'm still thinking about the cabbage I had. Everything was delicious. Home style. I'm not even going to say that I had "good service" because it was more than that. Everyone was so welcoming and they took excellent care of me.

Once you do walk in, the sounds of laugher and good company let you know that you've shown up at the right place. Savor every moment and be reminded of a what a good family meal really means. When my family and I visited Bertha's, we knew little about it, but we were greeted with the warmest hospitality. We did not feel like strangers, but like another member of the family. And the staff at Bertha's made sure that we were well-fed. The fried chicken was fresh and piping hot. The red rice was bursting with flavor. The mac & cheese was warm and comforting. And each bite of my meal just made me want to have another bite. Thank you, Bertha's Kitchen! It was a meal I will not soon forget!

    When my Wife and I looked up best Southern Food in South Carolina this was the first place to pop up, And once we tasted the food we can see why! The Fried Chicken was amazing, the Crab Balls were amazing, the Corn Bread was amazing, both the Seafood Rice and Red Rice was amazing, pretty much everything we tasted was amazing The drinks were gigantic! And they brought the food upstairs to our table, definitely recommend going here if you want some real good southern food!

    The food is just so excellent done with a mixture of crispy, gelatinous and grainy. Not too salty or greasy. The service was excellent too. I wish I can eat this everyday!

    Bertha's Kitchen: A Must-Visit for Soul Food Lovers Atmosphere: The restaurant had a cozy and quaint atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. Food: We opted for the daily special, which included white rice, beans, and our choice of fried or baked chicken. We substituted the beans for collard greens and maccaroni and cheese. Every dish was very flavorful and very well portioned! Also, the daily specials were only 6.75 each before substitutions! Service: The staff was incredibly polite and attentive. They gave us several recommendations for our first time and made sure we had everything we needed. Memorable Experience: The line around the building 15 minutes before they opened was a testament to the popularity of this place. It was definitely worth the wait! Overall Impression: Bertha's Kitchen is a great place to experience authentic soul food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The daily specials are a great value, and the food is consistently delicious. I highly recommend it!

    There are legitimately not enough good words to say about how great this place is... Every meal here is like a holiday with the family or a warm blanket. The menu rotates, so there's always a reason to come back again. Seriously, if you're reading this, it's time to head to Bertha's
